What are we doing?
Algodeal aims at providing both a technical and financial environment for quantitative investing analysts, the Quants. Technical, in that we provide our strategy design and backtest environment, Market Runner. Financial, in that we provide everything required to successfully run the strategies, from the market data and market access all the way to raising required funds.
What are our killer features?
- Funding : We are one of the only companies to provide funding to execute good quantitative strategies on more than the savings of a Quant's life, and without selling its shirt
- Clean Market Data : We provide a wide range of historical market data, filtered, corrected, adjusted... to run the strategies on. We currently support 80 futures contracts on a daily basis, but we aim at providing up to trades and quotes, on every traded market data
- Grid Computing : As Quants need to optimize strategies using various parameters, we provide a cluster of machines to support multiple concurrent executions on enterprise grade servers, at a speed no one can get at home
- Market Access : We have partnerships to get really fast and reliable access to markets to make the most of the selected strategies
What is Algodeal's business model?
Algodeal basically is a quantitative fund seeder. We aim at finding and funding the best Quants out there by removing all major barriers out of their way. Quants can thus concentrate on designing the best strategies on our platform for free. Once they are ready, they can enter a fixed term agreement with Algodeal to fund their strategy and execute it for real. Both of us get their share of profits, the rest going back to investors.
What platform does Algodeal run on?
Algodeal is essentially a web service, and is inherently multiplatform. Our execution environment, Market Runner, is written in Java, and runs with Java 1.6 on any supported platforms. We may support additional java compatible languages in the future, like Groovy or Scala. We currently provide integration with Eclipse development environment, but any Java development environment would do (NetBeans, IDEA, even Emacs...)
